Any ideas?? (please)

So, we are thinking of taking a little trip to Duluth (cuz we've never been there) and I wondered if any of you faithful readers (all 3 of you - teehee) have any suggestions as to what to do, where to stay, yadda yadda.

Please leave me a comment or send an email. I am open to ALL suggestions =)

I'm never sleeping again

In the middle of the night Emma was demanding strawberry milk but Mama and Papa were refusing to give in. So after a few minutes of whining, Papa threatened that if she didn't be quiet and go to sleep she would get put back in her own bed (she sleeps with us a lot of the time). But she leaned over and whispered loudly into Papa's ear:

"PAPA! IF YOU DON'T GET ME CUPPIE MILKIE, I'M NEVER GOING TO SLEEP. EVER AGAIN!"

Emma got put into her own bed shortly after.

And this is Emma, 10 minutes later.

Street Fair

Went to the street fair with a friend on Saturday morning. I wasn't planning on buying anything really. But these umbrellas were just gorgeous and I knew my girls would absolutely adore them. And they have played with them almost constantly since.

Hanna has a green one but I couldn't tear her away from her iPod, where Miley Cyrus' new album is playing at a constant. =)

Random

The girls in I got in the van Friday night and just drove to wherever the wind blew us. The sun was an hour or two from setting so the light was fun to play with. We ended up on a gravel road that led us to a cemetery. And there were a million birds there! Lots of cool weeds too. I usually don't describe weeds as cool. Especially when they are in my flowerbeds or when I step on one of those prickly suckers in our lawn. Anyway, just some random shots here.

I lost a tooth today

Ok, it wasn't a real tooth. Only a crown.

I had it put on two years ago because my tooth had a crack in it and it's been bothering me ever since.

For the first year it was achy a lot. Sometimes even throbbing. Then that went away and I was left with some sensitivity issues. Like whenever I drink cold water or eat ice cream, it sends me through the roof.

I've been talking to the dentist about this problem and we've been trying to solve it: taking x-rays to watch for infection, switching brands of sensitive toothpaste, filing it down to correct a possible biting issue. Nothing has helped.

So yesterday when I was there for a cleaning, I basically asked for a root canal. Normally you think of root canals as being horrific and painful, but my mom just had one not that long ago and she all but described it as a lovely experience. It probably ranked up there with foot rubs and chocolate.

I'm stretching a bit, but pain was no where in her description.

So, I'm sitting in the chair, wondering if I might have temporarily lost my sanity after realizing what I had just asked. But I was told I'd have to undergo some "tests" to determine whether or not a root canal would help my problem.

Oh dear....

Getting on with my story, this morning, in the shower I was using my handy-dandy oral irrigater when I hit on an extremely sensitive spot in the vicinity of the crown. Thinking it was probably just because I had my teeth cleaned and there were maybe some raw spots where the dentin was exposed, I continued with the waterpik. Then "pop", out it came.

Hmmmm....that might explain a thing or two.

I called the dentist to see if I could get in real quick and as luck would have it, they aren't open Friday thru Sunday. Great. Oh but never fear, they have a "dental emergency" number. Another answering machine. Joy.

But, long story short, I was able to get in and get the thing cemented back on. And it was probably more painful than a root canal! =)

Did I ever tell you about the time I...

...tried to dye my hair with Kool-Aid

...[unintentionally]shot bottle rockets at my nephews face

...bowled a 237

...played Claire De Lune at a piano recital

...scored 100% in guitar hero (but only on medium)

...rode in a helicopter as a patient

...learned to slalom water ski (and can still get up on one)

...peed my pants at a football game

...graduated college as a computer programmer

...sewed a "wedding" dress and destroyed it so I could be a dead bride on Halloween

...delivered a 1.8 pound baby

...went through a lay off, divorce, bankruptcy, loss of my father, and birth of a premature baby all in under a year

...lost 75lbs

...let my kids dance around in a fountain despite the "no wading" sign =)

Life: it's one crazy ride!

Lindenwood fountain

Last night

Last night, mom and I went over to Lindenwood so I could practice some blurry water shots of the fountain they have there, but unfortunately it wasn't on. So we stopped at the cemetery a couple blocks away to visit my dad's grave.

Mom said maybe we'd see deer, because apparently she's seen a lot there. And we did!

First we just saw the baby hiding in the trees along the edge of the cemetery. I got out of the van and slowly crept closer to it.

It stared at me for a long time before slowly moving away.

Then it darted out from the trees and bounded across the grass.

Later on, the doe was out. The fawn was drinking her milk.

"Hey, where ya goin' mama? I'm still hungry!"

I also took lots of shots of a butterfly in the yard. He was fluttering around for the longest time. I got 300 photos of him!

Here is a mama turkey and her chicks. Funny how the cemetery was so full of new life.

The angel that is keeping watch over my dad.

I tried a couple silhouettes of Emma. I can't wait until Eden is back. She is more patient with me when I'm trying to mess around with different techniques.

Miscellaneous bottles at the house. I think they are so cool, I couldn't throw them out once the juice inside was gone.
