Where's the butter?

My dear sweet man.

He was in the mood for cake/donuts/cookies/rolls...basically ANYTHING that would find a home on my hips and butt almost instantaneously. So he finally decided on some good old Swedish cardamom cake. A perfect recipe for a blustery cold day.

We didn't have any butter.

So he went to the store to buy butter, which means he must have reeeeeally wanted it bad. He proceeded to make the cake while I was cleaning up from dinner. After he had gotten it in the oven he had mentioned how he thought it seemed a little on the dry side this time. Later, when I was done with the dishes, I decided to heat up a cup of coffee in the microwave. I opened the door and there was this bowl of melted butter.

"uh......where you planning on using this?" I said.

"Oh CRAP!" -this is especially funny to me since it is the reason he went to the store in the first place.

And that explains the "dryness" he was referring to. We figured that the cake would be like a brick so we decided it would be best to eat it right out of the oven, warm and oozing with lovely holiday aroma - that way we could dunk it in our coffee and it would be edible.

It turns out that it wasn't a brick at all. In fact, it was quite moist and delicious. You wouldn't be able to tell there was anything missing at all!! So here we have a totally yummy cake without the fat!

Now I want to "accidentally" leave the butter out of everything, just to try it!

Fun night

Look at that smile. See how happy he looks?

That was before.

Before I opened a giant can of whoop ass on him at the new billiards place in town.

That's right. I schooled him, made him rack like 50 times.

Ok it wasn't quite THAT bad. He did get better as the night progressed. He won a few games (I scratched on the 8 ball).
