The curse of the 3 smoothies

Smoothie curse hits Denmark

The first sign of the curse:

Moments later.....

And at the very same time, in a different part of the house...

You know how it happens, you tip the glass way up because it's a bit on the frozen/thick side and sticks to the bottom. Then, without warning, the entire contents of the glass slides like the dickens towards your face. All of a sudden you look like a wax statue on a hot day. Next time, use a straw people!

I love sweat

We had a fun afternoon outside playing dodge ball, kick ball and toilet tag with the kids. After running around for a couple hours we noticed that Andreas had sweat a perfect heart on his shirt. lol

I tried to make the second picture a bit darker so you could see it better.

Too many cooks in the kitchen.....??....NONSENSE!!

Making salmon en croute

Emma likes to help

She made a little pie with the left over dough

"Can I roll more, mamma? Can I?"

And here's a couple of Eden's braids. I love when she lets me play with her hair.

And speaking of Eden....

Last night, when we were all sitting around the dinner table, impressing G-ma with our Danish speaking abilities, G-ma asked Eden if she liked talking in Danish (because it just seems to roll off her tongue without her even having to think about it). To which she replied "yes".

And then Andreas asked her, "Well, how come you never go to your small class then?" ("small class" is the exclusively Danish-speaking class that Eden can go to if she feels like it - but never does. I think they made fun of her for something one day and she doesn't like it there anymore.....damn kids!)

Anyway, Eden says to Andreas, "Because it smells like little people".

HAHA...we just roared! What is it exactly that little people smell like????

Phase one of my 500 phase master plan...

I don't really have 500 phases to my master plan.....I was just trying to be dumb.

Mission accomplished.

This is my mom, Jan:
Looks peaceful, doesn't she?
She looks either really happy to be in Denmark or just passing a little gas (perhaps both?).

Actually, what she is doing here IS phase one of my master plan (yes there are phases, just not 500). She is preparing her body for radical fat loss. She is listening to some good old hypnosis on my iPod. Of course, 15 seconds into it the windows were rattling from the snoring but maybe her subconscious mind was still paying attention. I'm not sure if it works that way or not, some hypnotists will tell you if you fall asleep it's ok and others will encourage you to stay awake for it to work. If nothing else, it helps her relax, eh?

Hopefully she decides she wants to be awake at least part of the day even though she's pretty much nocturnal. A normal sleeping pattern is going to be a good thing for this night owl. I think she is starting to get over her jet lag and I'm sure by the end of the week she'll be ready to hit the streets for some power shopping. Well, she hit the streets anyway. Or the driveway. The front yard at the very least. She's walking......farther than the front yard......whether she likes it or not. I'm telling you, she will RUE THE DAY.....

I love my mommy :)

Mom in Denmark

Well, my mom arrived here safe and sound yesterday. We are very grateful to the airline staff that helped make her trip go so smoothly. She had help at all three airports, which was very nice.

Now she is here for the next 5 weeks. She's already making up for 9 months of missed conversations and that Hanna has some competition for her future talk-a-thons. We are also wondering if she is either getting somewhat hard of hearing or if maybe her ears are still a bit plugged from the trip as she is shouting at us like she is trying to talk over a band in a crowded bar. I realize she is just excited to be here, and we are happy to have her.

You may want to ask again in a couple weeks whether or not her enthusiasm for visiting us is still on high because I plan on exercising her until she rues the day I blessed her world...teehee. She can hardly walk even short distances without back pain. We need to take care of that so she can enjoy the summer. And since she's got two new knees, we might as well put some miles on them! Welcome to boot camp! There will be no escape! If she doesn't come back to the US 10-15 lbs lighter, I might as well start thinking of different career options.

I am starting a second blog called "Fit Granny" to document her road to a leaner, healthier body. She will succeed! I am very excited to see the new her by summer's end. So start checking it out daily to see how she's doing and encourage her along the way! Here's to better health, g-ma!!
