campaign withdrawals

When I hear those two words, I think of my husband. How is it possible that my SWEDISH man is so addicted to American politics? He's a political junkie, and that's putting it lightly. He reads EVERYTHING, he knows EVERYTHING (because he reads everything) and I pity anyone who dares step into a political debate with him (he will destroy you!!!). He's smart, really smart and he knows the facts. He can back up any answer he gives you about why he feels strongly about this issue or that. I'm in awe, frankly, because most AMERICANS probably aren't as passionate about the latest news in Washington.

Anyway...

Every free chance he gets he'll belly up to the computer desk and soak up hours of Pollster, MSNBC, RealClearPolitics, Fivethirtyeight and Politico. There's probably more but these are the ones I can remember. This is a typical morning/evening at our house: I'm sweating my @$$ off on the treadmill and right in front of me sits my husband, into his Nth hour of political homework, chomping down mega calories in chocolate or some other form of candy (all in my view, mind you) and not gaining an ounce....bastard.

Maybe I tease him about it a lot but it's cute, really. I don't feel neglected or that he's spending too much time on the computer. Because at least he isn't spending hours looking up stupid stuff (except maybe the daily WTF, but that's funny - it's like this geek hub for silly errors found on computing devices and such), or watching sports THANK GOD. And it's not like he's an obsessive gamer that plays until his eyeballs bleed.......wait, he does that. Not lately though since the election is a day away, but I'm sure once all that hoopla is over he'll need to fill the void with something.

I just hope he doesn't get too crabby. He'll have to let us start using the computer again and he's sort of like a tiger on a fresh kill......don't get too close! I can empathize though because I can imagine it feels sort of like having a baby. There's so much build up and your excited to see the result but you feel so empty inside when it's over. My poor baby! I'll have to comfort him with lots of sugar, let him know I care.

Oh, and by the way...Obama is NOT the antichrist so stop filling my inbox full of that stupid CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
